How did we protect our client's network after a ransomware attack?

Ransomware attack and introduction of Sophos firewall

A medium-sized enterprise that manages data that is critical to its customers and operations.

Challenge

Our partner’s previous operator used an old, outdated, misconfigured firewall to protect its network, which could not adequately handle modern cyber threats. As a result of a successful ransomware attack, the customer suffered significant downtime as data was encrypted and operations were severely disrupted.

Solution

After the ransomware attack, immediate intervention was required to resolve the situation and prevent similar incidents in the future. That’s when our Client contacted us, and our team’s experts quickly diagnosed the problem and took effective measures to restore it. First, it was possible to recover affected data and minimize disruption to business processes. After that, we started the long-term improvement of network security with the introduction of the new Sophos firewall. After installing the Sophos firewall, we achieved the following results:
